Our Mission & Vision
Our Mission is to promote a culture of abundant life in accord with the Good News and the values of
justice, peace, solidarity, tolerance, love and respect for diversity.
We have a clear Vision to see that children, adolescents and their families, who have been marginalized by society, would experience abundant life through three levels of intervention:
• Personal (Holistic development)
• Family and community (strengthening the family, local networks and participation)
• Political and structural (construction of social politics and adequate intervention methodologies)
A central aspect of Claves’ campaign Uruguay, A Country of Good Treatment campaign is to provide adolescents and young people from communities of tourist destinations an opportunity to participate in the prevention of commercial sexual exploitation of children and adolescents. Hear from our youth volunteers on the success of the campaign and importance of continuing its mission in this video.
Buen Trato is the motto of the movement in Latin America. It demands Fair and Caring Treatment for all. Buen Trato is the embodiment of the Vision that every child and adolescent would enjoy a full life and be respected as a human being with dignity and rights.

MOBILIZING YOUTH
STAND UP FOR THE RIGHTS OF CHILDRENThe Fair and Caring Treatment Campaign is a public awareness campaign led by adolescents to raise awareness about the mistreatment of children and adolescents.
Adolescents from educational institutions and churches participate in conceptual workshops and training in varied artistic techniques. Through creative activities, adolescents capture the attention of adults and challenge them to be symbolically vaccinated against abuse.
“ It is an approach that affirms young people as creative and resilient image bearers of God, even as it recognizes their need for support, healing, and restoration.”

Committed to Youth
and cultural healthFrom our start, we have worked actively to form programs related to children and youth in Uruguay. In 1989 we formalized our relationship with the Uruguayan government,
becoming the Civil Association
“Juventud para Cristo en el Uruguay”.
Since then we have worked with government organizations, international organizations and with civil society organizations that operate in the country.
